I am Kaitlin and the President of the ESN Board. I'm a kind, crazy and "down for anything" kind of person that enjoys sleeping, studying languages and sports. I have had a chance to meet Käärijä and seen Dwayne Johnson in person.

 

I joined the ESN because I used to be an exchange student in Kuopio, where we had the best ESN events and I also think that during the dark winters it is important to come together with other students, internationals and Finns.

Helmi Kuusisto

Hello my oysters, it's Helmi!

 

Some of y'all might remember me fron projects last year, and this year I've been granted the pleasure of taking over the role of the Vice-President. I'm originally from southern Finland (Halikko my beloved <3), and I'm currently in my first year of doing my master's in Arctic World Politics

 

I'd love to say that in my free time I'm doing something specific like going outdoors or painting or whatever, but in reality you (and I) will never know. One sec you'll find me fantasising about revolution and taxing the rich, the next sec I'm building a life sized coffin out of cardboard, and the next morning I'm going to swim at the crack of dawn.

 

If there's one constant thing in my life, however, it's that if I'm ever at the university, you'll find me in my natural habitat (on the sofas in front of Felli) doing something super important (playing Bubble Shooter or Dog Mahjong).

Antti Huotari

Hello, my name is Antti Huotari and I'm studying International sport business management in the Lapland UAS here in Rovaniemi.

I enjoy going to the gym and spending time in the nature during my free time. I also love to go to the summer cottage whenever the snow is not on ground (or when there is enough to ski there)!

I was active in the BBA students of Rovaniemi in 2025 and decided to apply for ESN Lapland's board and got voted in! I figured I could be the treasurer because of my studies and to my surprise the board was fine with it!

I'm spending the rest of my January doing my Erasmus+ exchange in the Hague, Netherlands, but you will be seeing me in the events and at the office from February on!

Aili Lavikainen

Hello,

I'm Aili, a 4th year political science student at the University of Lapland.

I moved to Rovaniemi from Finland's southeastern coast and have gotten to know the city and the epic highs and lows of student life pretty well by now. I like to hike, cook and engage in general tomfoolery. I will always tell you if there's a cute dog nearby.

Joinin the ESN Lapland borad gives me a great excuse to procrastinate writing my master's thesis so thanks for enabling me. Don't be afraid of deadlines, make deadlines afraid of you.

Hi!

I'm Linnea, the HR manager as well as one of the harassment contact persons. I'm a fourth year art student at the university.

I'm originally from southern Finland. In my free time I like crafting, cooking, singing and occasional baking.

Aurélien Germay

I'm 25, I come from Belgium, I have been living in Rovaniemi for nearly four years now. I study international sports business management in Lapland UAS, starting my last year now.

I do a lot of sports in my free time, mainly American football and going to the gym. I love being outdoors and I also work as a guide, doing all kinds of different activities such as going to the reindeer farm and chasing northern lights.

My name is Lisa, I am 28 years old and originally from Germany. I came to Rovaniemi to do my PhD in Administrative Sciences.

I speak some Finnish and I am always happy to explain this crazy language to fellow learners. In my free time, I love to do hikes around Rovaniemi, bake and knit.

Virág Magyar

Hi! My name is Virág Emese Magyar from Hungary. Fun fact: my last name literally means "Hungarian".

I arrived last January as an Erasmus student and quickly fell in loce with the magic of Lapland, which is why I decided to stay longer. I study commerce and Marketing at university in Hungary.

I love being in nature, hiking, doing winter sports, and especially traveling, discovering new places, cultures, and foods, which is also why I applied for the Trip Coordinator position.

Hana Beus

Hello!

My name is Hana, and I am the Board's Communication Coordinator. I am new to Rovaniemi, but I have already fallen in love with its nature and the peace it offers. I hope that one day, I will know a bit more Finnish than just "kiitos".

I am currently pursuing my master's degree in Education, but in my free time, I enjoy creative activities like crocheting, pottery, and music. I am also a horror movie enthusiast!

I love meeting new people and working with them, which is one of the reasons I decided to join ESN. I believe it will give me the opportunity to acquire new skills and knowledge while connecting with others.
