Hello all! I’m Hanna, the president of ESN Lapland. I’m studying in the University of Lapland majoring in Leadership Psychology. Originally, I’m from southern Finland, but Rovaniemi has my heart. Our student community has an extremely warm and unique atmosphere here. We have four beautiful seasons, and everything from pubs to ski slopes are nearby. If I’m not studying or being busy with two student organisations, you can most likely find me spending time in nature: snowboarding, hiking or just enjoying the views. I started my ESN journey in spring 2019 when I first joined the board. I love to meet people from diverse backgrounds and I truly hope you all will love Lapland as much as I do. I'm Faith, the VP of ESN Lapland this year. I'm a first year tourism research student at the university of Lapland. I've never been on exchange but I've lived abroad and moved around, so I have some idea of what it's like to arrive to a new place and start anew. I want to help make sure that all our exchange students feel comfortable and enjoy their time here!

My name is Jesse. On this year I am treasurer once again. I study information technology at UAS, So you will see me there more often than University. I have been 2 times on exchange and after that I wanted give something back to exchange students here in Rovaniemi, so that why I joined to ESN Lapland. My name is Miia and I’m the secretary of ESN Lapland for 2021. I’m a second year Tourism Research student in University of Lapland and it is also my second year in the board of ESN Lapland. I enjoy spending time outdoors and one of my favorite things here in Rovaniemi is nature and its closeness. Project Coordinators & Event Coordinators: Kat Nurmela

I’m Kat, the Project Coordinator of ESN Lapland. I’m a master’s degree student in the Tourism, Culture, and International Management programme In the University of Lapland. I’ve done my own exchange semester in Macao and an internship in Portugal. I really loved those experiences and want to make sure that exchange students in Lapland get the best possible experience as well.

It’s my first year in ESN Lapland, but I’ve previously been part of ESN Helga in Helsinki. If you have any questions or ideas for projects please don’t hesitate to contact me! You will likely find me either at the uni cafeteria, ski slopes, the basketball field, or the local pub quiz.

Communication Manager & Trip Coordinator: Minh Hieu Nguyen

 

My name is Minh and I am with ESN Lapland this year as Communication Manager and Trip Coordinator. My tasks mainly take in charge of our visual outlook, communication-related matters and partnership. I also coordinate trips with our partner, TimeTravels. Unfortunately this semester it has been difficult to organise any trips, but hopefully the situation will improve!

 

I‘m originally from Vietnam but been here for almost 8 years! I enjoy photography, hiking, a good conversation or simply a warm coffee!  If you have a dog though, I‘ll be talking with your dog more than with you
